FOR TIPS AND ADVICE READ OUR FAQS, OR GET IN TOUCH
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR / BRING?
General sports / gym wear is best. The important thing is to allow for flexibility/movement and something that you feel comfortable in. The Centre often changes in temperature, so we advise bringing layers to ensure you stay at optimal temperature. We do serve drinks in our cafe but a bottle of water is always a good idea.
HOW STRONG / FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
You don’t need to be super strong to get into climbing. You’ll find 'problems' (which is what we call certain climbs) you can and can't do on your first visit, and the more you practice the stronger you’ll become! We do advise you warm up before you start to reduce the risk of any injuries, and then you're ready to climb! (our knowledgeable staff can help if you need guidance, just ask).
IS BOULDERING FOR ME?
Whether you’re a newbie or climbing in the top grades, everyone has a move that scares them or a challenge that they can’t quite master, and in our friendly environment everyone is cheering each other on. We love to meet new people and introduce them to this amazing sport. You will be warmly welcomed at Chimera Climbing Centre, so come along and give it a go!
